| Christian Fournier "A ray of sun, an interior light, a passerby, and we feel as if we have been transported to an old shop in a true Paris neighborhood. Fournier's colors are rich; the stroke of his brush is steady. What talent! Thank you Mr. Fournier. You allow us to continue to dream." Christian Fournier was born in Lyon, France in 1948. After taking private art lessons at an early age , Fournier went to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. Upon graduation, Fournier embarked on an artistic career in his native Lyon. His early paintings were almost exclusively portraits. Like generations of earlier artists and writers, however, Fournier felt drawn to Paris. In Paris, Fournier enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts to further his studies. He met a group of older artists who had studied at the celebrated Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. This academy specialized in continuing the tradition of the Ecole de Paris. Fournier had discovered the subject matter that he wanted to develop. His works of the cafes and the boutiques of his adopted Paris are small gems that capture the atmosphere and flavor of the City of Lights. Christian Fournier has had major exhibits in France , Germany, and the United States.
