Fraile
Pedro Fraile was born in 1957 near Madrid, Spain. At the age of eight,
Fraile went to live with the great Spanish master Manuel Benedito. During
the next four years, the magic world of Manuel Benedito’s creative
workshop christened Frailes love of art and his future as an artist.
In his early twenties Pedro Fraile was married and moved to Barcelona
for one year. The year in Barcelona gave way to a Mediterranean influence
in his work. Painters Joaquin Vayreda and Mir Rosinol provided artistic
inspiration for Fraile.
Viewers of Fraile’s paintings are presented with a wonderfully unique
look at the Spanish life. His plein-air paintings reflect a vast variety
of subjects, images of workers in the field, peaceful seascapes and colorful
landscapes of his beloved Spain. Pedro Fraile is a painter of the land,
of the simple life that he respects and loves.
